Bad Cards

Free online party card game

Funny card games to play with friends online

Bad Cards is a fill-in-the-blank party game where the funniest answer wins. The judge changes every round, so nobody gets to decide what funny means for very long. It is free, it runs in a browser, and a game takes about fifteen minutes.

No download. Only the host needs an account.

Why it is actually funny

Because the jokes are yours. The cards are raw material, and the comedy comes from which one your friend picks for a prompt about their own life. A pack is not a set of jokes. It is a set of things that become jokes when the right person plays them at the wrong moment.

A round that went well

Prompt

Wait, just so I'm sure that I get it... explain _ to me one more time.

A voice memo that is somehow nine minutes long.

Judge's pick

A forty-minute story with no ending.

Replying all to the whole company.

Three answers, one judge. The judge decides, then becomes a player again, and someone else gets the power.

Funny without the filth

Funny does not have to mean filthy. Set the rating to G, PG or PG-13 before the first round and the same game works for coworkers, cousins and that one friend who blushes. Turn it up later if the room wants it.

When the cards stop surprising you

Switch games. Same friends, same code, a different kind of funny:

  • Bad Memes: the judge shows a picture and you play the caption.
  • Bad Texts: a stranger texted the wrong number, and you reply.
  • Bad Questions: you get the answer and play the question.
  • Bad Blanks: no answer cards, everyone writes their own.

Questions people actually ask

Is it free to play?

Yes, and nobody in the group has to pay for the rest to join.

How long does a game take?

About fifteen minutes with the default eight rounds. The host can set anywhere from one to fifty.

Can we play it over a video call?

Yes. Everyone plays on their own phone or laptop while you talk, and on Discord it runs inside the voice channel.

Is it OK for a work party?

It can be. The host sets the content rating before the first round, so you can cap it at G or PG.
